Why I Share My Journey — And How You Can Start Yours
When I started my wellness transformation, I didn’t know that someday I’d be writing blog post number fifty.
At the time, all I wanted was to feel better in my own skin. I was tired of hiding. Tired of saying “I’ll start Monday.” Tired of giving up on myself before I even had a real plan. And while my journey is still far from perfect, I’ve learned one truth that pushed me to keep going:
Sharing your story is a powerful part of healing.
So today, instead of another tip or recipe, I want to open up about why I’ve been showing up online—and why I believe you should start sharing your story too.
Why I Started This Blog
This all began as a personal outlet.
I never expected anyone to care about what I had to say. I was just a guy who lost over 108 pounds (49kg) and didn’t want to feel invisible anymore. I was tired of reading advice from people who had never been through it. Tired of polished influencers selling six-packs like they were products you could buy.
So, I started writing what I wished someone had told me:
-
That you could mess up and still succeed.
-
That lazy meals were okay if they helped you stay consistent.
-
That burnout doesn’t mean you're broken—it just means you need to slow down.
-
That even home workouts can change your life.
This blog was my way of keeping myself accountable. But it became more than that. It became a way to connect.
Why You Should Start Sharing Your Journey
You don’t need a transformation before you share. You don’t need to “have it all together.” You just need honesty and a willingness to grow in public.
Here’s why it works:
-
It makes you accountable. Even if no one’s watching, you’ll feel more connected to your goal when you say it out loud.
-
It helps others. Your words might be the spark someone else needs to get up and try.
-
It builds confidence. The more you reflect, the more you realize how far you’ve come.
-
It removes shame. Once you put your struggles into words, they lose their power.
Sharing isn’t always easy. But it’s always worth it.
How I Share — and Keep It Real
Here’s the thing: I’m not an expert. I’m not a trainer or a nutritionist. I’m just someone who decided to stop waiting and start doing.
So I write about:
-
What I eat (even when it’s not perfect)
-
What my workouts look like (sometimes it’s just walking)
-
When I feel motivated—and when I don’t
-
How I deal with anxiety, fatigue, or setbacks
-
What tools, supplements, or habits help me push forward
You’ll never see a fake version of me here. That’s not what this is about.
How You Can Start Today
Still unsure? Start small. Try any of these:
-
Write a journal entry.
-
Post a photo with a caption that means something to you.
-
Make a private voice note.
-
Share one takeaway from your day.
You don’t need a platform. You just need intention. Your story is powerful—even if it doesn’t feel like it yet.
This Is Just the Beginning
This is my 50th blog. That’s wild to me.
If you’ve been following my posts since the start, you already know how much has changed. But one thing hasn’t—I’m still just a regular guy, trying to do better each day.
I still have goals I haven’t reached. I still have moments where I doubt myself. But the difference is that now, I don’t stop when I hit a wall. I write through it. I talk about it. I keep showing up.
And that’s what I want for you too.
Final Words
If you’re reading this and thinking, “Maybe I should start too,” the answer is yes. You should.
Start messy. Start scared. Start tired. Just start.
You never know how your story might change someone else’s life—or your own.
Here’s to showing up, even when it’s hard. Here’s to sharing, even when no one claps. Here’s to blog #50—and the next fifty after it.
You’ve got this.
