What I Eat in a Day (When I’m Trying to Be Healthy but Also Lazy
Let’s be real — I’m not a chef, I don’t meal prep like a fitness influencer, and I definitely don’t wake up craving green smoothies every day. But I am trying to eat healthier, without losing my mind or spending hours in the kitchen.
Here’s what a typical “trying-to-be-healthy-but-still-lazy” day of eating looks like for me:
Breakfast – Fast, Filling, and Requires No Brain Power
Go-to: Oats with peanut butter and banana
-
I just microwave quick oats, stir in a spoon of peanut butter, and slice up a banana.
-
Takes 3 minutes. Fills me up. No regrets.
-
Bonus: Keeps me full till lunch and doesn’t taste like cardboard.
Other days, I go for:
-
Toast with avocado & boiled egg
-
Or just coffee + a protein bar when I oversleep (it happens 🙃)
Lunch – The “Throw Whatever You Find in the Fridge” Bowl
Go-to: Rice + protein + random veggies
-
Leftover rice, canned tuna or chicken, cucumber, tomatoes, maybe a boiled egg
-
I mix it all up with olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper = boom, lazy health bowl
When I have zero motivation:
-
I grab a wrap and stuff it with whatever’s not expired.
Afternoon Snack – This Saves Me from Ordering Junk
Go-to: Greek yogurt with honey + walnuts
-
Or some dates and almonds if I want something sweet.
-
This is key: if I don’t snack, I end up ordering burgers at 6pm. Every. Time.
Dinner – Light, Chill, and Lazy Again
Go-to: Omelet + toast or soup + grilled cheese
-
I keep it easy. No pressure. If I have energy, I might make pasta with veggies.
-
If not: eggs to the rescue. Forever.
Night Cravings? I Don’t Fight Them. I Balance.
Yes, I eat chocolate. Sometimes I crave chips. I just try not to go overboard.
I realized being too strict just makes me binge later, so now I allow myself a little something every day. Guilt-free.
Final Thoughts
I’m not perfect. I still order food sometimes. But eating “kind of healthy” consistently has made me feel better, sleep better, and even save money.
If you’re like me — someone who wants to be healthy but also doesn’t want to suffer — this balance might be your best friend.
