I Tried Meditating for 7 Days – Here’s What Actually Happened

I always thought meditation was for monks or yoga people with incense and perfect calm vibes.

But I was stressed, overthinking everything, and couldn’t sleep — so I gave it a shot. Just 5–10 minutes a day, for 7 days straight.

Here’s what really happened:

Day 1: I Was Restless AF

I sat there thinking about food, my phone, and what I needed to do later. My brain did not want to chill. But I didn’t quit.

 Day 2–3: Still Chaotic

I used YouTube guided meditations (search “5-minute meditation for beginners”) and it helped a bit. I couldn’t focus, but I liked the calm voice.

Day 4–5: Something Shifted

I started enjoying the silence. It felt weirdly peaceful to do nothing for a few minutes. I was less snappy. I slept better.

Day 6–7: My Brain Felt Lighter

I won’t lie — I’m not “zen” now. But I stopped overthinking every little thing. I felt more clear-headed. And I kind of looked forward to that quiet time.

Final Thoughts

Meditation won’t solve everything overnight. But 5 quiet minutes a day? That helped more than I expected.

Give it a try. No pressure. Just breathe.
